Beginning Orienteering

Come enjoy this Saturday afternoon outdoors and learn about Orienteering, maps, and how to use a compass. This event will cover the basics of Orienteering as well as First Class Requirement 4a. It is a perfect opportunity for scouts wishing to begin and/or complete needed requirements for the Orienteering Merit Badge, as well as a First Class rank requirement. The event will consist of about 1.5 hours of instructions followed by a 100 meter pace course and running a beginner level Orienteering Course on Duck Island.  Follow up sessions will be offered periodically to help scouts complete all Merit Badge requirements.
