Live the Adventure with Troop 48

Camping, high adventure, leadership and service for youth in Kingsport for more than 80 years. Families are always welcome to visit on Tuesday nights.

What we do

Scouting at Troop 48 is built on five things we care about.

Tradition

For more than 80 years, Troop 48 has offered Scouting to youth in the Colonial Heights area of Kingsport, Tennessee. We are sponsored by Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, where we meet every week.

Leadership

Scouts develop and practice real leadership skills. Activities are planned and run by the patrols and the Leadership Corps of senior scouts.

Adventure

We head out at least once a month to hike, camp, rock climb, canoe, ski and try shooting sports. High adventure trips go to places like Cumberland Island, Philmont and Sea Base.

Advancement

With more than seventy active adult leaders, scouts learn from experts in robotics, chemistry, aviation, welding, climbing and more, and discover what they love to do.

Service

Together we give hundreds of hours each year: cleaning up Warriors' Path State Park, running canned food drives and completing Eagle Scout projects.

Come visit a meeting

Parents and youth are always welcome. We meet every Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church (except on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). Please contact the Scoutmaster to confirm the date you’d like to visit.
