Eagles Nest

The BSA program is designed to allow the Scout, on his own initiative and at his own pace, to set goals and choose objectives which lead to Scouting’s highest rank, the Eagle Scout. This award demands a high level of achievement, demonstrated leadership skills, and a significant amount of community service. The Troop 48 program provides numerous opportunities for advancement and service, with support and guidance from the troop leaders.

On a national basis, about four percent of Boy Scouts earn this award during their Scouting career. Our troop’s level of accomplishment is several times higher than this performance. Nevertheless, the goals of Scouting (citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness) remain important for all Scouts, whether or not they attain the Eagle Scout rank.
