Adult leaders are needed for two-deep leadership on outings.
1) Adult Application – pick up hard-copy version from wire rack next to yellow patrol binder box. Alternatively, fill out and print electronic version.
2) Complete the Scouting Family Talent Survey
3) Take Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) and print our certificate. Go to https://my.scouting.org/ to Create Account on left and then login. On the training page, there will be a block for Youth Protection Training with a Mandatory version that covers Overview and Policies, Bullying, Sexual Abuse, and finally a YPT Certification test. Afterwards, you will be able to print the certificate.
4) Pay the Treasurer the troop annual fee of $3 and the Council/National annual fee.
5) Give application and SYT certificate to the Scoutmaster or Treasurer.
6) Go Becoming a Merit Badge Counselor to advance your interactions with the Troop.
7) To continue being an Assistant Scoutmaster, you must be fully “Trained”. Online training is available (my.scouting.org) for Hazardous Weather and ASM/SM Specific (series of modules) plus field training for IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills) which is scheduled several times over the year.
