2021 Navitat Canopy Adventure

4/5/2021 The 2021 Knoxville Zoo // Navitat Canopy Adventure (option) trip has undergone a change.

There will not be a class/merit badge offering for COVID related issues. Programing and the booking will now run from the general admissions and will require us to have a minimum of participants to lock in a group rate (to be paid on Wednesday 4-7) of $19.95 vs regular rate of $24.95.

So, this means for those who are going to the Zoo the cost went up by $4.95 each at a minimum.

Currently we have 12 participants signed up.

It also means currently we need to have 3 (including 1 more adult preferably) more participants signup by the end of Scout Business on Tuesday Night (4-6).

 

The canopy adventure is good to go.

We will pay for those participants Wednesday (4-7) also.

We will have a wonderful day full of opportunity.

ZOO RULES

• All persons visiting the zoo must have a good time!
• Be kind to the animals. This is their home.
• Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and caregivers are responsible for the behavior of their children.
• Please don’t feed the animals. They are on special diets.
• Please leave flowers and plants for others to enjoy.
• Leave your pets at home, not in the car.
• Guests with service animals, please check in at the Ranger Station before entering the zoo. All service animals must have proof of rabies vaccination.
• Please leave radios, glass containers and straws in your car as they are a hazard to the animals.
• For your safety, wear shirts and shoes while in the zoo.
• Please observe the designated smoking areas throughout the zoo.
• No skates, bicycles, skateboards, roller shoes or hoverboards are permitted.
• Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on zoo grounds.
• Firearms are not permitted on zoo grounds.

We will need to select 1 of 2 educational advancement opportunities.

1. Exploring Insects
   The animals on display aren’t the only ones who call Zoo Knoxville
   home. Take a journey through the Zoo on a smaller scale, while
   focusing on all sorts of insects, spiders, and creepy crawlies. This
   workshop meets some requirements of the BSA Insect Study
2. Avian Adventures
   Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it…. I don’t know what it is! Take a zoo
   adventure to learn more about the birds of Knoxville and be involved in international bird research. This workshop meets some
   requirements of the BSA Bird Study Requirements.

You have the option to see some of the Zoo and then add a 2 1/2 hour (once you are onsite) experience of your own making @ the Navitat Canopy Adventure at the IJAMS Nature Center or you may stay and enjoy more of what the Knoxville Zoo has to offer.

Navitat Participation Requirements

Navitat Waiver (Including Assumption of Risk and Agreements of Release and Indemnification) Must be signed and turned in prior to departure.

PLEASE SIGNUP AND PAY BY MARCH 30TH so that we may reserve a spot and the facilities may enlist the necessary resources for our group size.
