Hike to The Channels Natural Area Preserve (Invitation Only)

This hike will now be by invitation as the Virginia Department of Conservation and Resources has posted this warning:  the parking area is limited to 10 vehicles. If the parking area is full when you arrive, please come back another time. Parking along Highway 80 is not permitted, and violators will be ticketed. due to the Covid-19 pandemic to help keep down multiple people crossing one another on the trail.

Several options were evaluated by the Troop 48 leadership.  The plan is to take just three vehicles, first inviting our new scouts needing Second Class 3b (5-mile hike with map use), and then other scouts still needing this advancement requirement.
