Mother’s Day Out

Scouts at the Blake

• Dates: June 26 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM) and July 8 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
• Location: 915 Holston Hills Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664
• Contact: Arthur Zagolin at 423-430-7119 with any questions.

Adult Leader Training Requirements
Approximately 12 adults were dropped from the My.Scouting roster for not completing the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) by the May 31st deadline. These leaders are ineligible for trips until their status is restored.

Upcoming Events & Training

• Lifeguard Training (June 26–28): Held at the Kingsport Aquatic Center. Contact Brad Moncla at 214-293-1794 for details. Please pay fees to Mr. Browning (cash or check payable to Troop 48).
  • June 26: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • June 27: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • June 28: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Jefferson Garden Squad (July 8, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM): Conservation service project at the school pollinator garden. Bring tools and water.
• Crazy 8’s (July 18): Registration is open on the troop website. We need five scouts for each station: Medals (3:30 PM), Little 8’s (5:30 PM), and Barking Lot (7:30 PM).
• Dick Tracy Rock (August 7–9): We need families with boats and certified lifeguards. Please contact Brad Moncla if you can help.
• Eagle Court of Honor: Tentatively moved to August 11 (PLC to confirm). The cutoff for recognition is August 4.

Rank Requirements (Scout and Star)
Parents, please complete the “How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse” pamphlet exercises and view the Personal Safety Awareness videos with your scout. To confirm completion, sign and date the front cover of the pamphlet and submit it to the troop.
