Troop 48 Weekly Schedule &  Announcements for June 16, 2026

Summer Camp 2026 Key Times: Assemble @ CHPC: 11:00 AM June 14, 2026 Sunday. Eat beforehand or have a bag lunch. Return to CHPC 10:30 PM June 19, 2026 Friday night. 

Wednesday night June 17 Family Night at CDC. Families may bring food and arrive at 5:30 PM.  We will have a campfire and flag retirement. 

Friday night June 19 Family members are welcome to attend the CDC campfire summer camp closing that will start at 8:00pm we will be traveling home directly after Friday evening CDC campfire 

TROOP 48 REGULAR MEETING AT CHPC JONES BUILDING TUESDAY JUNE 16 @7:00PM  

  – Uniform Donations: We are currently accepting clean, used uniforms for the troop closet 

  – Troop Meeting: A small meeting will be held on June 16 at CHPC to provide scouts with individual attention for advancement. Mr. Hasler and Mrs. Tanner will be in attendance.

Adult Leader Training Requirements

As of May 31, 2026, all adult leaders are required to have completed the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT). Please be advised that leaders who have not completed this training have been removed from the active roster and are currently ineligible to participate in trips. A status list is posted on the Parent’s Board; please mark your name off once you have completed the training to remain current.

Upcoming Events & Training

TUESDAY JUNE 23 WE WILL MEET AT Sullivan Heights Middle School is located at 1236 Moreland Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664. @7:00 for a game of kickball – weather permitting.  Otherwise, the troop meeting will be at CHPC gym for volleyball or basketball.  .

Lifeguard Training (June 26–28): American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (including CPR/AED) will be held at the Kingsport Aquatic Center. Please contact Brad Moncla at (214) 293-1794 for more information.Please pay fees to Mr. Browning in cash or check (payable to Troop 48).

      – June 26: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

      – June 27: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

      – June 28: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Crazy 8’s (July 18): Registration now open on the troop website for volunteers to help with:.

      – Medals: 3:30 PM (Finish Line)

      – Little 8’s: 5:30 PM (Finish Line)

      – Barking Lot: 7:30 PM (Outside the Stadium)

Dick Tracy Rock (August 7–9): We are seeking families with boats and certified lifeguards for this trip. If you can assist, please contact Brad Moncla.
