Per troop policy, no Troop 48 meeting on Christmas Eve 

Many will be getting ready to enjoy New York City Trip (Dec. 27-30) 

Troop 48 does meet on Dec 31 New Year’s Eve

Mayor Paul Montgomery Is coming on January 7 to cover First Class 9a: the constitutional rights and obligations of a U.S. citizen. 

Time to sign Annual (4) Forms

Upon joining Troop 48 and then for each calendar year, this set of documents are to be read by every scout and a parent, signed, and turned into the troop indicating that you understand the policies. All Forms can be found on T48.org under Resources.  (The 2023-2024 BSA Activity Consent Form needs to have the 2024 date range updated in the title and on the form.)

17-19 January Winter Camp – Full $150 per scout due now. Have 20-21 going so far.

Class selection for paid participants.  We’re closing registration with the 12/31 troop meeting.

Cumberland Island Expedition, tentatively May 25-31, 2025  

is filling quickly. Please register and make a $100 deposit to Mr.Browning. Attention all Expedition members. T-shirt design competition!! Please submit a T-shirt design for the trip. The winning design will be our Expedition T-shirt. 

Camp Davy Crockett Summer camp – class registration is now open!!!!

Philmont Cavalcade 2026

New News:

• Congratulations, Troop 48, for the Journey to Excellence performance initiative, you received a solid Gold (1900 out of 2000 total points available). 
• Some adults in SM/ASM roles received notice about a training gap.  It is the Hazardous Weather course which must be taken every two years.  Please check your training profile in My.Scouting and have this valuable training current by the end of January.
• Arrowmen reminder, you will not have an LEC this month. Our next meeting will be on January 23rd, 2025, at our Council Service Center located at 129 Boone Ridge, Dr 37615. Additionally, you can now pay your dues online for 2025 using this link> https://scoutingevent.com/713-92141. You can also pay your dues by visiting or by calling the Sequoyah Council Service Center located at 129 Boone Ridge Dr, Johnson City, TN 37615 – (423) 952-6961. The Council office will be closed for the holidays from December 23, 2024 thru January 6, 2025.
