Trip Report: Sea Base 2023

Sea base is not for the faint of heart and is more recommended to older scouts. On this trip you go around the Gulf of Mexico and Florida Bay while passing islands such as Islamorado and Key Largo. This trip is enjoyed by many as you can fish, sail(learn how to) and also you get to spend time with friends. It is recommended for older scouts as it is mentally exhausting and along with that there is weight requirements for safety on the boat and passing a BSA swimming test. You also get to explore coral reefs and go snorkeling along with learning how to maintain and live in a boat. With that fun comes responsiblity as you are expected to do cooking, cleaning, and keeping anchor watch among many other tasks. It took place in late December- early January in 2023. So overall you have to do everything and maintain about along with sleeping on a boat, so this is not recommended for people who get easily seasick.

People enjoying the Sun at Sea Base from Dec 28-3.
