August 15, 2023 – Troop 48 Events & Announcements

Attention Now Events:

August 12: Maintaining the garden in its first year is foundational to its long-term success.  Therefore, Keep Kingsport Beautiful and the George Washington Elementary School PTA are rallying volunteers to pull weeds and add more mulch to the beds, which will get the garden in tip-top shape as the school year winds up.  We will plan to meet at the garden at 9 AM on Saturday 8/12 and work for approximately two hours.

Drew Utterback will be at CHPC for Youth leadership training to be held on August 12.  An email was sent out!

Care Package

We are collecting card items to put together a care package to send overseas to a former Troop 48 Scout who is serving.  We need to get the first package out next week after the meeting as his location may change quickly in the coming months.  He has specifically asked for eye drops, Tums, and nonperishable snacks.  He is in extreme heat so we need to pay close attention to what we send.

If you have Troop 48 clothing that is too small, then please donate it to the Brother’s Closet.
