Reminder: If you are sick, stay home! If you have been exposed to sickness but feel well wear a mask. RSV, FLU,COVID and pneumonia season!! Let’s keep the Troop members healthy:)
TROOP 48 BSA – SNOW POLICY
Our troop policy for severe and unusual weather. We will continue with the meetings as scheduled, attend if you believe you can do so with relative safety. Check T48.org
Welcome: Two new scouts (Jackson/Wilson) from Pack 385 at Cassidy UMC
In the Cafe, Mr. Garrett continues to offer Cycling MB, and Mr. Overton Chess MB. In late February, the troop will begin the Physical Fitness Merit Badge

February 4 OMBO Operation Merit Badge Opportunity- Citizenships (link to event)
Rosters will be posted for Society (limited to Life and Star rank scouts), Nation, World, and Community (now full). Register at T48.org for first and second class choices – filled by order submitted. Worksheets for World have been distributed. Hard cutoff is the January 31 troop meeting as scouts need to Be Prepared!
February 7 Historical Reenactment, Pack 250 Webelos visit
February 10-11 CCCF-SFF Continuous Campfire, and Scouting for Food. Troop 48 will work with Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church to collect food donations for the Blessing Box and for Second Harvest Food Bank while keeping a continuous campfire to bring awareness to hunger. Also troop-led flag retirement and “candy land” activities of scouting to prepare for the Klondike Derby. (link to event)
February 18-19 Klondike Derby scout skills competition at Camp Davy Crockett.
February 21 Snow ski talk, MBU info
MBU March 4 at Northeast State – Waiting on confirmation of plans by council
June 18-24 2023 Summer Camp. Class registration underway. Paper copies of the one-page worksheet are available in the wire racks or online. See or email Mr. Hasler with your choices. Collection of $160/scout, $57/adult payments (half of total) is due by the end of February.
