Kingsport Crazy Eight Race support

20210717 Troop 48 Crazy 8 Support Timeline (Easy to look at Schedule)

This calendar event to be updated with instructions for those volunteer scouts and adults supporting the Crazy Eight race water booth and other activities.

• 202107031727 The Event Organizers have reached out to us and are asking us to support the “Little 8’s” and NOT the UBS water station. Expect an update to be shared MONDAY July 5th.
• 20210715 The Almost Crazy 3K Run/Walk starts at 7:58 pm, and the Crazy 8s 8K Run starts at 8:58pm. HMG, Martin Dentistry & the Barking Lot should be set up and ready to go by 7:30pm.  All others should be set up and ready by 8:30pm.  We are expecting about 700 in the 3K and 2500 in the 8K.
• In addition to the Little 8 component, we have been asked to fill a great need with the Medals follow the 8K.
• We could use some additional help filling this…continue to sign up (the shirt order was placed on Wednesday…no more orders)

Tables and dog water bowls will be provided.

202107061013 (UPDATE)The Little 8’s is our new support option, taking the place of the UBS Water Station.

This race will take place with J Fred Johnson Stadium

This starts around 6pm on that Saturday (7/17) and is on the field beside the finish line.  Then around 6:35pm, all volunteers for Little 8s need to report to the finish line on the field.  Once there I will explain what we need.  Basically, we need some at the Finish line to help hand out ribbons and medals.  We will also need at least 5 people to be on the course at certain points to help guide the little kids while they are running. Little 8s starts at 6:58pm and is usually over by 7:30pm.  We run these races one right after the other so they go by quickly.
