Wood Badge is the premier training program for Scouting America. It teaches contemporary leadership and team development skills in an outdoor setting. Its purpose is to aid Scouters in providing a quality program that will enable scouts to grow to their greatest potential.

The course encompasses the key concepts of management from top leaders in the management field. Therefore, this course can be helpful in your career as well as in your scouting position.

The Wood Badge course will be conducted during a three-day weekend (7:30 AM Friday through Sunday at 5:00 PM) and a two-day weekend (7:30 AM Saturday to Sunday at 4:30 PM).

Wood Badge experience consists of two parts: practical training and application. Practical leadership experiences are gained in a camp setting where leadership and management skills can be learned and
practiced as a patrol.

After practical training, each participant has at least four months and a maximum of 18 months to complete the application phase (ticket) and meet all the goals agreed upon during the course.
