Attention Quartermaster Team:  The barrel outside the troop garage IS NOT a trash can but a place to collect aluminum cans for recycling. The new barrel lid will soon be better labeled.  Please ensure all trash from the garage is put into the church dumpster.  (Mrs. White has access to the dumpster key.)

Needs:

If you have Troop 48 clothing that is too small, please donate it to the Brother’s Closet.

Troop 48 has an HP F4440 InkJet printer which is down to its last HP60 black ink cartridge.  If you have any surplus, the troop could use it – otherwise will be retiring this device to just continue with the Brother laser printer.

Parents :

Troop 48 expenses – FYI, for the next charter year, an increase in the troop fee is anticipated to cover the rising costs of running the program.  Here are examples of some expenses (big and small) incurred at the troop level.  $8-10 t-shirts were given upon registration to all new scouts and adults.  $404 in awards and recognitions were given out at the Spring 2023 Court of Honor.  (While rank patches are paid for by a council-level sponsor, merit badges are now $3.59 each.  Fox Patrol averaged six MBs per scout over the past year.)   A $15 box of copy paper is used each year plus the toner.  Blue cards are 10 cents each.  Registration for Troops 48B/G at recharter is now $200 total.

Popcorn sales are coming and can help with fees!!!

A Crockett Card may be another way to save money for the active scout and leader

Required for Assistant Scoutmasters not already “Trained”

  • Classroom option for SM/ASM training will be offered on September 23
  • IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills) on September 29
