Warriors Path State Park Conservation, July 15, 10:00 am-noon

Indian Path Community Hospital in partnership with Niswonger Children’s Hospital Sponsors Kids Central during Fun Fest on July 17th from 9:30a-3:30p and July 18th from 12:30p – 5p. Indian Path has four activities set up, such as an obstacle course, hula hoop, long jump, and corn hole, for kids to complete to receive a prize. We are encouraging children to get outside and play. The volunteers would help the kids with the activities, encourage them to participate, and even show them how to do the activity. I will provide a free Fun Fest t-shirt while supplies last drinks all day on both days and lunch on Monday. We would love to have anyone interested to come help. It is hot but we have fun!  Anyone interested can contact me on my mobile at 423-863-6711 or office at 423-857-7048 or email Tessa.malone2@balladhealth.org.

Thank you! Tessa Malone

Tuesday event July: 18 Cook-Off Planning.

Plan for a one-pot meal! No ingredients will be required or supplied. Let’s see what you can do! Wow, the judges win! For the Cook-off you will need a shopping list, a food buyer, and a patrol duty roster.  The cook-off will take place on Game Night August 8th. This date gives your patrol time to prepare and practice.

We will be catching up from camp and off-location meetings. Incomplete summer camp MB worksheets are ready to distribute.  Mr. Hasler and Mrs. Tanner will be doing book checks – especially for Eagle Bound.

Totin Chip and Fireman Chit cards will be distributed at the troop meeting.

Leadership will be available to work on incompletions, QM and Service patrols will need help cleaning patrol boxes and storage areas to get caught up – plus stomping cans.

Troop 48 has an HP F4440 InkJet printer which is down to its last HP60 black ink cartridge.  If you have any surplus, the troop could use it – otherwise will be retiring this device to just continue with the Brother laser printer.

WARNING TO ADULT LEADERS – YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING

Please note there is no guaranteed grace period once your YPT has expired after two years, thus you’re at risk of being dropped from the National BSA roster which then requires a new adult leader application – along with all annual fees, including a $25 new member.  Notices are automatically sent by BSA starting 90 days before the expiration.  There have been five Troop 48 adult leaders dropped because of failure to take action.  Fortunately, the first three have rejoined with current training and paperwork.  Troop 48 has a desktop and laptop computer which can be used on a Tuesday night to complete this training.–
