Phoenix Patrol Sycamore Shoals State Park Trip Sheet (Click Me)

This is a National Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.

• Adult Leader NEEDS:
  • Provide transportation for youth to and from Sycamore Shoals State Park
  • Ideally under present conditions there will be NO carpooling. However, in the event that a youth cannot participate due to their parent’s prior obligations a leader may choose to transport non-family members using the following guidance.
    1. Wear masks while in the vehicle
    2. Have vehicle windows opened enough to allow for greatly improved air circulation. (wearing jackets while in the car may be necessary)
  • Provide necessary leadership on museum and fort tours. Facilitate the opportunity for youth to complete req. 2a of Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge.
  • Provide adult leadership, promote BSA COVID SAFE protocol compliance whenever possible. (Masks, social distance, and hand sanitizing)
• Wear Class A uniform. Be sure to dress for the weather as the fort is outside (hats, jacket, gloves). Be sure to bring a mask and hand sanitizer. Always pack a personal first aid kit for all trips. Bring water (and snacks if necessary).
• Tour museum followed by fort tour. We will take a group photo after the tour.
• Parents/Adult leaders not signed up to go . . . Consider touring the fort/outdoor grounds while we are in the museum and then switching places with us if you want something to do while waiting on your scout
