Throughout 2025, a total of 94 unique scouts (boys and girls) participated in Troop 48 activities and attended meetings at CHPC. The troop also had over 55 registered adult leaders.
Activities: Throughout the year 2025, 90 different Troop 48 Scouts, participated in 28 scouting activities including NASA Space Camp, Summer Camp, Winter Camp, Cumberland Island, Scouting for Food, Backbone Rock, Hungry Mother State Park, Conservation Projects, Dick Tracy Rock, OA Events, Patrol Outings, Various Hikes, Orienteering, Channels Hike, Merit Badge Universities, JLT, Color guards, Fun Fest Parade, Surgionsville Rivefront Festival, Crazy 8 Service, CHPC Pumpkin Patch, and Scout Sunday Service. The troop sent participants to High Adventure camps including the Bechtel Summit and Philmont Scout Ranch.
Attendance: Troop 48 Scouts, on 1,863 individual occurrences, attended Scout Meetings.
Awards: Troop 48 scouts earned 53 special awards, including Religious Emblems, Winter Camp Skill, Den Chief Service, Fire’n Chit, Totin’ Chip, Polar Bear Swim, Up with the Sun Run, Paddleboarding, Honor Scout Awards, and Wilderness Pledge Award.
Camping: A total of 85 Troop 48 scouts spent a total of 725 nights camping, at Camp Davy Crockett, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, Backbone Rock, Bays Mountain Park, Dick Tracy Rock, OA Outings, Warriors Path State Park, Misha Mokwa, Grayson Highlands, Hungry Mother State Park, Cumberland Island, Bechtel Summit, Philmont Scout Ranch, and various Patrol Campouts in the area.
Churches: Troop 48 Scouts attended 936 Church Services throughout the year.
Merit Badges: A total of 59 Troop 48 scouts earned 261 merit badges.

Service Hours: Troop 48 scouts completed a total of 1,921 hours of service, including conservation projects, eagle projects, supporting the cub scouts, planning and performing scout training, school projects, delivering firewood, church ministries, and much more.

187 8/26/2025 Farris Ward Built a shelf to cover ductwork, Insulation of a drying rack above a sink, cleared brush, pressure washed outside and painted the front door of the Appalachian Humane Society.
188 8/12/2025 Teddy Caflisch Build permanent obstacles on the JROTC trail run at West Ridge High School. On the trail run there will be three obstacles, a six foot high wall to go over. a wall with windows you go through. and a short wall you go under. These walls are made out of pressure treated lumber and posts, securely placed in ground. The obstacles have also been painted and have the Bulldog Challenge logo on them.
189 8/26/2025 Rhys Wilkins Build storage compartments for the Family Resource Center for City Schools. The compartments consist of cubicles separated in the middle by an open space with a pullout table so the workers can keep space while adding more storage organization. The cloning racks were rebu9lt. The Family Resource Center serves families in the Kingsport area that have varying needs such as hygiene products, clothing, shoes, sports equipment, winter gear, and of course food.
190 8/26/2025 Christopher Preshong Renovated a firepit and benches at Bancroft Bible Camp. The old firepit was replaced a 10’X3′ stone pit and benches were replaced with recycled plastic benches.
191 11/5/2025 Abby Keeton Built and installed house shaped food boxes at Salem Methodist Church and Bluff City United Methodist Church. The wooden boxes stand about 6′ tall on posts with a plexi glass door. The box features a sign “Give what you can and take what you need”.
192 11/5/2025 Emery Keeton Designed and installed 15 cat scratching posts using high quality material and sisal rope. The posts will provide a safe and comfy exercise station for physical and emotional support. The posts were provided to Tiny Miracles Kitten Rescue.
