Attention, Patrol Scribes!  Troop Meeting Attendance sheets should be updated when a scout joins your patrol.  The master copies are then in the top filing cabinet drawer.  Please only make up to five copies (one month’s) to avoid having to write in the scout’s name repeatedly.  It is important to have accurate records to support various uses of the information.

Hunger Awareness Month – Scouting for Food: start planning now

So all social awareness lectures aside, here’s the skinny.

Troop 48 would like to make a substantial drive for food for the Second Harvest Food Bank during the month of SEPTEMBER (Hunger Awareness Month).

Each patrol is charged with planning a pair of outings… one week to drop off bright orange labeled bags in pre-determined neighborhoods and the following week to pick up the donated goods from the porches of the chosen neighborhood.

Considerations:

  • planning a pair of dates in September that are a week apart.
  • Having a truck, SUV, or minivan to pick up food on the return date..
  • Getting as much group participation as possible.
  • Dressing in class A for drop off and pick up if possible.
  • Your patrol needs to decide on a neighborhood you know well OR ask Ms. Wilkins or Ms. Tanner for a route. ONE patrol per neighborhood… first come first served. (target approx 150 houses)

We will have prizes for the patrols that report the highest percentage of participants.

Citizenship in Society class Save the date September 28 for Star/Life scouts and First Class at 15 or more years old. Registration is open on T48.org. Please register ASAP.
