The campsite is great and has access to short hikes with beautiful views. There is also a gift shop and wilderness trail museum that is very educational. We may have to cancel the truck-in camping if no one else signs up.

Parents of those working on Scout or Star ranks. They have a requirement which must have your involvement. “With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide and view the Personal Safety Awareness videos (with your parent or guardian’s permission).” The first item is a pamphlet found in the front of the scout handbook (or here). The second is on Scouting America. To communicate this completion, just sign and date the front cover of the pamphlet (or send a written message if it is missing).
Adult Leaders: YPT is now SYT: Safeguarding Youth Training. Read here for details. While YPT focuses mostly on preventing abuse, SYT includes information on SAFE: supervision, assessment, fitness and skill, and equipment and environment. The 90-minute course is now required when YPT becomes due. (Good news is that the refresher might only be 15-minutes.)
