It’s Almost Time for the Jamboree-on-the-Air and Jamboree-on-the-Internet

Drop in at the Council Service Center this Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There will be a Ham Radio setup in the Order of the Arrow room of Scout Headquarters located at:

129 Boone Ridge Drive, Johnson City TN

Come talk to scouts all over the world and meet requirements for parts of the Radio Merit Badge. Print and take your MB workbook.

Troop 48 CDC Shooting Fair, Saturday, Nov 4th 8AM – Sunday, Nov 5th 6PM 

https://t48.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2023-Troop-48-Shooting-Fair-Schedule-v4.0.pd Shooting Fair is designed to give instruction in the safe and proper use of archery equipment, .22 rifles, and 20- guage shotguns. This instruction and experience will allow the Scouts to make progress toward the Rifle and Archery merit badges. There will be some down time where each group will play field games. Patrols will occupy themselves.(prep time for skits is strongly advised, or bring a field activity game(football, frisbee)).Following Saturday’s activities, a feast is planned for and to be executed by the Leadership Corps for Saturday dinner. 

The feast will be held at the HQ building. Patrols will prepare their desserts to share with the feast crowd. Following thefeast, 2023 Patrol Experiences will be shared. We will have a formal Troop 48 style (patrols bring your prepared skits andsongs) campfire at HQ.We will camp out on Saturday night in the Black Bear Get signed up !!!

Webelos night went great!!! Well done, scouts!!

Mr. White will be at the 10/24 troop meeting.  Available to meet with a small group to take care of the Second Class 7c (dangers of substance addictions).

Planning a Halloween party for October 31🎃 and shooting fair desert competition plan!!

It’s that time of year again!!!  Scouts and adults, if you are not feeling well, have been around anyone not feeling well, or are part of a group exposed to someone who tested for Covid-19 or flu, please skip any patrol meeting or troop outing during that week. Please keep everyone safe!

Wolf patrol is the winner for Pizza and Donuts!!!

Winter Camp (Jan. 12-15, 2024) Registration is open. Register here right now and pick desired classes. See Pages 8 and 9 of the event guide.

Summer Camp (June 16-22, 2024) class registration coming in November.  If you are interested in hard-to-get classes like BSA Snorkeling, Cooking MB, or Welding MB then talk to Mr. Hasler about your preferences to sign you up when it opens.  Class catalog    

Troop 48’s aluminum service project recycles cans and other aluminum scrap.  Collect and bring into the troop meets for the service patrol to handle.

Leadership Training:

Class:  Wilderness First Aid Class

Instructor:  Wes Miller – 

Dates:  12/1/23 to 12/3 – Start after school/work on 12/1 and finish afternoon 12/3.  Exact times TBD.

Location:  CHPC and Offsite on Sunday Morning

Requirements – Must be 14 years old to earn certificate & patch – Serious students of WFA should still consider register.

Registration Fee – $100 + Provided Meals (TBD)

WFA Kits – Full & Backpacking Kits available for purchase–
