Sickness policy
With different bugs traveling around the public, if you are sick, please stay home! If you have been exposed to sickness but feel well, wear a mask. We are entering the contagious season of RSV, FLU, COVID, and pneumonia with active cases around the region. Let’s keep all Troop 48 members healthy.
Popcorn for a Purpose 🍿
It’s popcorn time. Mr. Monk will share details.
Earning through fundraising!
The Sequoyah Council believes in providing a simple way for Scouts to fund their adventures and learn the value of hard work by earning their own way while supporting a local business.
This year we have partnered with Big Poppa Corn, a Pick Tennessee Company. Every kernel counts- all the proceeds stay in the region, and more than half fuel local Scouting programs!
Get involved:
Scouting Family You and your child are part of our family and we are glad that you are!!
We have a lot of fun – and parents, you will be surprised to see how Scouting will positively affect your child you may already have.
Scouting is a family program and all of our leaders are volunteers. We ask that each family participating think about how they can help. We have lots of opportunities and needs in our Pack, Troop, and Crew. We do great things and have lots of fun.
We don’t know your schedule or how busy you are, so let’s discuss what you can do.
We have specific needs like Den leadership for Pack 348, Adult Advisers for Patrols, Adult leadership for Trips, Transportation, Merit Badge Counselors, and more. We want to use your talent. Let us know how you can help, we need you. Happy to answer any questions.
Online Renewal Notices – watch your email 💌
Please get registered (it’s that time).
Most of Troop 48’s leaders and scouts have a 31 Oct recharter deadline. Starting in 2024 an electronic system was used for payments to BSA. Please check your inbox and/or spam folder for an email with a link to renew online. The cost per scout for National and Council fees is $150, and $100 for adults, which includes the cost of insurance. If you do not receive an email, you can log on to my.scouting and complete the renewal from the renewal notification or “My Application”. Let us know if you have any problems.
If you would like to pay for your renewal from your scout account, let Mr. Browning know and Troop 48 can handle your renewal and payment for you. A credit card fee will be included.
43-50% of Troop 48 adults and scouts have already rechartered, so please join them.
Adults, please ensure your SYT (Safeguarding Youth Training, formerly YPT) and Hazardous Weather training is current, including those with 2025 expiration dates.
Annual Troop 48 Fee:
Troop 48 registration fees will be the same as last year, $42 per scout and $3 per adult, in addition to national fees. The troop registration fees cover our general operating costs for the year, Nov. 1, 2025 – Oct. 31, 2026. General costs include merit badge patches, website administrative costs, historian costs such as plaques, etc., and camping costs such as propane, gear, etc. Please make this payment to Mr. Browning by Oct. 31, 2025.
Annual Forms: As part of renewal we update the four annual forms. Please complete the forms ASAP. They are to be signed by parents and scouts and turned into Ms. Amy Taylor. Forms available here.
Patrol Renewal Competition – The first patrol to get 100% members renewed, T-48 dues paid, and annual forms completed and turned in will receive a special award (involves Doughnuts).
