Wear formal Class A uniform.  We’ll have the troop meeting, then will go to the CHPC sanctuary at 8pm for the Eagle ceremony.

August 8-10 Dick Tracy Rock Trip consists of backpack-style tent camping on an island (sometimes) in Cherokee Lake, about 3 miles from Camp Davy Crockett.  All gear, except for patrol water jugs, needs to be in backpacks (no coolers).  Meals will be prepared by ad hoc food groups from their pre-planned menus.  Will use cooking fires and/or backpacking stoves (no propane stoves), thus suitable for Cooking MB.  Activities include water skiing, extra canoeing, swimming with life jackets and shoes, gravity-assisted descending from “Dick Tracy Rock,” arrowhead hunting, fishing, etc.

NOTE: it is important for efficient planning that registration for Dick Tracy Rock be completed ASAP.  We also need adults that can camp and/or drive scouts to and from the event.

August 30th. Surgoinsville RiverFront Festival. Troop 48 Color Guard leads a flag retirement ceremony at this event. Please contact Adam Moorman if you are interested in helping with the flag retirement.

2026 jamboree!

At Summit Bechtel Reserve

July 22- 31, 2026

Contact Great Smoky Mountain Council to register.

Note the date is a conflict with T48 super trip to USS Yorktown.

Hoodie Order: We still have people who have not picked up the ordered lightweight and traditional hoodies. Please come prepared to pay (unless paid in advance) and pick up your order.

Attention, Patrol Scribes!  Troop Meeting Attendance sheets should be updated when a scout joins your patrol.  The master copies are then in the top filing cabinet drawer.  Please only make up to five copies (one month’s) to avoid having to write in the scout’s name repeatedly.  It is important to have accurate records to support various uses of the information.
