3/4 Tuesday CPR & Basic

Sunday: March 2 – Firewood delivery

What to expect: 

As the season of Lent approaches, CHPC prepares to walk with Christ towards the cross on Easter. Lent kicks off on Fat Tuesday as we enjoy a Pancake Party! Dinner will be served at 5:30pm in the gym.

3/4 Tuesday CPR & Basic First Aid $25 Registration Open Recommended for everyone (you need this for WFA – we will be having a course ) CPR is needed for all going to Cumberland Island.

Wednesday March 5:  CHPC holds our annual Ash Wednesday Service in the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to participate in this most meaningful service as we give thanks to God for the gift of life, while also acknowledging our own mortality. Christopher Preshong is planning on having another workday at Bancroft on Friday the 7th at 4pm, until it gets dark. We will be digging holes and concreting benches into the ground. If you have shovels and posthole diggers to bring, that would be great. I will provide snacks and drinks. If you are available to come and help, please let me know so I can plan accordingly! Taught by Mr. Simmers and Mrs. Tanner.   Limited to the first 12 scouts who tell them of your interest in the class (3 spots left).  Bring bagged lunch, pencil, and $3 to cover facility use.

3/29 JLT (Junior Leader Training) 9 am to 1 pm Registration OpenJOHNSON CITY MERIT BADGE SATURDAYS!!

An In House Citizenship in Society MB class will be offered in March as well. Contact Ms. White, Mr. Sprinkle,  or Mr. Browning if interested.

The cutoff for awards and the bulletin is the end of the March 25th troop meeting.

4/11-13 Backbone Rock Climbing & Rappelling  Registration Open

4/26-27 Backpacking Introduction at Bays Mtn. Park  Registration Open

5/9-11 Boone Trail Camporee – May 9-11, 2025

District-wide Camporee. We are looking for scouts and adults to serve as staff for this district event. If interested, please contact Mr. Browning. Registration opens on Monday, March 3rd.

2025 Super Trips – take action NOW to participate!

Cumberland Island Expedition, May 24-31. One opening is remaining. Pick your shirt size. Each participant will get a t-shirt as part of the trip cost. Additional shirts may be ordered by attendees, parents, or other scouts at $17 each.  

Summer Camp – June 15-21 (starting Fathers Day) at Camp Davy Crockett 

All registered should have paid $260 as of March 1. Please bring payments to Mr. Browning ASAP.  fPlease register on T48.org to indicate preferences for housing and carpooling.  Contact Julieann White with any questions. 

NASA Space Camp July 17-20 Pathfinder program. Only a few Openings Remaining.

Non Refundable Registration Fee Due Now. Please consider this trip. Register on T48.org and pay a $100 nonrefundable deposit to Mr. Browning ASAP. Minimum trip size is 16 with a maximum of 25. 

WFA:If you are an Adult Leader or a Scout 14 or older please let Mr.White know if you are interested in wilderness first aid (suggested for all super trips, backpacking, canoeing, climbing and biking trips. 

National Jamboree 2026, July 22-31, 2026. Ten fun days at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia with thousands of other scouts. $1,560 per person fee plus council costs. Look for registration on the Sequoyah Council website soon. First payment due in May 2025.

Save the Date:  April 26-27 (Overnight) to be offered at Warriors Path State Park
