 ' Chip is a a prerequisite\n\nRequirements per Wikipedia:\n\nIn order to e
 arn a Firem'n Chit\, a Scout must prove to either his Scout leader or his 
 designee that the Scout understands his responsibility to\n\n 	Read and un
 derstand fire use and safety rules from the Boy Scout Handbook.\n 	Build 
 a campfire only when necessary and when having necessary permits (regulati
 ons vary by locality).\n 	Minimize campfire impacts or use existing fire l
 ays consistent with the principles of Leave No Trace. Check to see that a
 ll flammable material is cleared at least 5 feet in all directions from fi
 re (total 10 feet).\n 	Safely use and store fire starting materials.\n 	Se
 e that fire is attended to at all times.\n 	Make sure that water and/or a 
 shovel is readily available. Promptly report any wildfire to the proper au
 thorities.\n 	Use the cold-out test to make sure the fire is cold out and 
 make sure the fire lay is cleaned before leaving.\n 	Follow the Outdoor Co
 de\, the Guide to Safe Scouting\, and the principles of Leave No Trace and
  Tread Lightly!.\n\nIf the rules to tending or making a fire are not foll
 owed after any amount of given warnings\, or none at all\, then the Scoutm
 aster or senior patrol leader may revoke the privileges associated with th
 e award.\n\nAlthough the patch is shaped like a pocket flap\, it is not to
  be worn on the pocket flap. It may be worn as a temporary patch on the ri
 ght pocket.
