 Creeper trail (the hard way)\n\n\n 	WHEN?  \n\n 	SATURDAY 18SEP2021\n 	St
 art at 8:00 am\n 	Plan to finish riding before 4:00pm\n\n\n\n\n 	WHERE?  
 \n\n 	Meet at the Creeper trail parking at ALVARADO STATION. \n 	21198 Al
 varado Road\, Abingdon\, VA 24211\n 	It is about 1 hour drive from Kingspo
 rt\, between Abingdon and Damascus\n\n\n\nDETAILS:\n\nBring a water bottle
  and/or hydration pack.  There are water spigots available every 10-12 mi
 les or so for refills.\n\nHave snacks handy.  Hours of continuous riding 
 will deplete your energy reserves.  Bring your favorite food to refuel al
 ong the way.  Here are some suggestions.\n\n 	Trail mix\n 	Energy bars (c
 lif…\, power…\, granola…\, fig…\, etc.)\n 	Beef jerky\n 	Peanut bu
 tter and jelly wraps\n 	Dried fruits\n\nWhatever you do\, Don’t Bonk!\n\
 nHave some cash just in case you want to stop at one of the trail cafes al
 ong the way for some food.\n\n 	Or you may need to buy a spare tube in Dam
 ascus at one of the bike shops.\n 	Or you may decide to quit and call an U
 ber for a ride home…\n\nSee you there!\n\nWe’ll get the uphill portion
  out of the way the first 25 miles and then “coast” back to the finish
 .\n\nThe fine print…\n\nREMEMBER:  RECORD EACH OF YOUR RIDES IN YOUR ME
 RIT BADGE WORKSHEETS!  For each ride I’ll expect you to have something 
 written down for the following:\n\n 	DATE\n 	MILES\n 	Route\n 	Most intere
 sting things seen (yes\, it’s in the workbook!)\n\nTo receive credit for
  this and any future rides all participants MUST:\n\n*       Have a 
 helmet\n\n*       Ride safely - no horseplay\n\n*       Have w
 ater\n\n*       Bring a bicycle in good mechanical condition\n\n* 
       Be prepared for rain\, just in case. No special gear is require
